PAM @RCHOMIC 1NC. COMPETITION 2021

The architecture cartoon & comic attempt to trigger the creative impulses of architecture students to broaden our horizon of possibilities. The basic premise is to visualize and identify the needs of the character within the concept revolves around the world, lifestyle, theme and habits of ARCHITECTURE STUDENTS. This contest aims to invigorate the nostalgia and create the ‘architecture that defined you as student.’ The competition is an exercise to maximize the creative potential of the participants and a means to navigate around the reality and fantasy. Creativity needs to be free from the limitations of everyday logical thought processes. The term @RCHOMIC 1NC. (architecture comic incorporated) simply means the incorporation of any techniques to create the comics, i.e. not limited to drawing, sketch, digital imaging, etc. As an architecture student, you need to be intuitive and discover the wild creativity to integrate those qualities in your designs now!

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS & Procedures

Participants must submit online the following works;
(1) Ideas Narratives in text and .mp4 video
(2) Digitized Artworks
(3) Maximum 5 pages comic
by 15th October 2021.

SUBMISSION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

All entries must be originally made for the PAM @RCHOMIC 1NC. COMPETITION 2021 and have not been featured anywhere else OR have been previously submitted in any other competitions;
Artworks, storyboards and the comic must be relevant to the theme and will be judged based on the artist’s creativity and originality of the depicted theme;
Participants are allowed to draw in manual OR use appropriate digital application to create the comic;
Manual sketch OR cartoon OR drawing must be digitized from the original work of the participant;
The comic may be produced in full color OR monochrome OR black & white;
Digitized artwork format: must be submitted in two version namely .jpg and .pdf files;
While original hardcopy of artwork may not be required for this submission, participants are advised to keep the hardcopy evidence as their masterpiece and for the purpose of display if their work is shortlisted as the top winner during physical appreciation ceremony to be announced by the organizer;
No part of the works may contain prohibited, offensive or objectionable materials (political, language, nudity, sexual etc.);
Participants must ensure they have full ownership of the materials submitted (footage, music, images, typography etc.).
Entries containing any unauthorised content will be disqualified;
Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia AND their authorized agent(s) OR affiliate(s) reserve the right to reproduce AND/OR retain in full or part of the submitted works AND/OR recordings for the purpose of publication AND/OR the purpose of archiving and exhibition AND/OR the purpose of any marketing activities and promotional materials with credit of works remain owned by the submitter(s).

Judging Criteria

The jury shall evaluate the entries based on delivery of theme, sketching skills and quality of the production. Panel jury reserves the right to apply appropriate waiver in the case of insufficient qualified short listed entries for the judging session.
